Anabel Navarro

Anabel Navarro is self-taught photographer from Alicante and based in London. 

Inspired since the beginning by the pureness of the Mediterranean light and an interest in the female body, Anabel began shooting her friends with an old film camera while studying Law in Spain. Her work often centres on the depiction of women in a more personal way, focusing on the human and individual with the aim of creating un-objectified image.

This series was shot in the summer of 2018 and sees Anabel going back to her origins after years living abroad. The personal project is based around the Mediterranean coast in places such us Alicante, Jávea and Mallorca. The series, shot on film and hand printed by the artist, focuses heavily on natural light and textures that have become a regular characteristic of her work.
