Mati and I began making photographs together five years ago. Gradually the images we created began to coalesce in an extensive and ongoing body of work. The pictures were born out of a naive desire to make images with a camera. Five years on, this naivety remains largely intact and a dominant feature of the work. The work has been a personal obsession of mine, it has been, and continues to be, a vehicle through which I have explored our relationship as it evolves. The work is in a continual state of flux; it is constantly being added to, worked on, sequences edited together, prints made and torn up, abandoned and taken up again. Through this process it is slowly maturing and I hope it will, in time, become something of significance.
