Eyes Make the Horizon
“In November 2015 I moved to the south shore of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I did this with the intention of creating a body of photographs in response to my sustained presence in this region. This work resulted. It gives shape to an emotional and experiential timbre, the result of gradually seeing, photographing, and developing an understanding of my relationship to this landscape.
These photographs reflect the immeasurable extent to which the interplay of memory and perception informs my surroundings.
