Oumayma B Tanfous

Oumayma B. Tanfous is a Tunisian photographer working between New York City & Montreal. Known for her fashion and portrait photography, her style is a beautiful encounter between fashion and documentary.  Her gentle way of bringing out the natural beauty gives rise to unconventional portraits of young adults. “ With my photography, I try to combine documentary and fashion to create informal portraits, often of teenagers and sub-communities. I am mainly interested in the concept of community and how a group of people recreates the concept of family in a totally subjective way with their own rules and beliefs. ‘’ Whether in studio or on location, Oumayma explores in her projects around the globe the subtle meeting of aesthetics and authenticity, with a great sensitivity.
